- I was able to obtain one of these panels and was impressed with the performance. The description says they are experimental but they really look like production grade panels. It is my impression that these might have been something built to sell but were pulled from the production line to test and verify that they worked correctly. When I compared one of these to my stiff glass panels under the same sunlight conditions I found that they produced similar output for the same surface area. The flexible panel tended to be about 15% less powerful per sq. ft than the glass panel when the sun was at the peak. But as the sun went down the flexible panel produced more than the glass. I particularly liked the flexible feature. I could move them easily and even walk on them without worry. I just rolled them out on the lawn and picked them up when they were in the way. If these had been glass I would have needed help to move them for the amount of power they produce. I would guess that they weigh about a third what the glass ones do for the same power. Next I will be gluing them to the roof of my motorhome since they are so light and will follow the curve of the roof. I figure the wind drag will be minimal and I don't have to worry about them breaking from the vibration of the motorhome or driving under a tree branch. (Posted on 12/29/2014)
