This unit was built in-house by a motor rebuilding company. It operates by slowly charging a bank of capacitors to a preset level. When its firing button is pressed it instantaneously discharges the capacitors through its output cables. Any ferrous material connected to those cables will be left magnetized. Due to the nature of its design the capacitors must periodically be replaced. This unit has reached that point; all eight of its main capacitors need replacement to make the unit operational.
Although this is a bench top unit it packs a serious punch. If you are not totally confident in your ability to change the capacitors and operate the unit safely, do not buy it.
