Applications
The WD Caviar line was Western Digital's mainstream desktop hard drive series throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s. The WD300AB is a parallel ATA (PATA/IDE) drive designed for standard desktop PCs of that era — systems running Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP with an IDE controller on the motherboard. Today these drives are primarily used for maintaining and restoring period-correct vintage desktop PCs, retro computing builds, and legacy systems that require IDE storage rather than modern SATA.
