Description

Tektronix S-265 Vintage 1:1 Oscilloscope Probe with Grabber Hook BNC Connector

The Tektronix S-265 is a vintage passive 1:1 oscilloscope probe designed for direct, unity-gain signal measurement. With no attenuation, the S-265 passes the full signal amplitude to the oscilloscope input — making it well suited for low-level signal work where preserving signal magnitude is important. The probe features a fine needle tip for precise circuit contact, a grabber hook attachment for hands-free clip-on measurement, and terminates in a standard BNC connector.

Specifications & What's Included

  • Manufacturer: Tektronix
  • Model: S-265
  • Probe type: Passive voltage probe
  • Attenuation ratio: 1:1 (unity gain)
  • Tip: Fine needle probe tip
  • Connector: BNC
  • Cable: Gray coaxial cable, approximately 1 meter in length
  • Includes: Grabber hook attachment

Applications

Passive 1:1 oscilloscope probes like the Tektronix S-265 are used in electronics labs, calibration benches, and product development environments where the full signal amplitude must reach the oscilloscope without attenuation. They are particularly useful for measuring low-voltage signals that would be further diminished by a standard 10:1 divider probe. The grabber hook attachment allows the probe tip to clip onto component leads, test points, or wire terminations, freeing the technician's hands during longer measurement sessions. Tektronix produced this style of probe primarily through the 1970s and 1980s to complement their analog oscilloscope lines, and these probes remain compatible with any modern oscilloscope equipped with a BNC input.

Condition: Used
This Tektronix S-265 1:1 oscilloscope probe was acquired from a retiring electrical engineer who used it in his professional calibration and product development lab. It has been tested in-house and is in good working condition. The probe body and grabber hook attachment are intact, and the BNC connector is clean and undamaged. The cable and tip show normal wear consistent with regular lab use. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
