The Stratasys P400-SR is a soluble support material cartridge designed for use in Stratasys FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printers. It contains SR-30 soluble support material — a water-soluble thermoplastic that is used alongside ABSplus model material to build the support structures that hold overhangs and complex geometries during printing. Once the print is complete, the SR-30 support is dissolved away in a WaterWorks solution bath, leaving a clean finished part with no manual support removal required.

Applications
The P400-SR soluble support cartridge is used in Stratasys FDM systems that support dual-extrusion with soluble support, including the Dimension series (Dimension BST, SST, Elite), uPrint and uPrint SE, and Idea Series and Design Series Performance 3D printers. In these systems, the model material (ABSplus) builds the actual part while the P400-SR support material builds breakaway or dissolvable scaffolding underneath overhangs, internal channels, and complex part geometries. Soluble support is particularly valuable for parts with internal cavities or tight undercuts where manual support removal would be difficult or would leave surface marks. The SR-30 material dissolves completely in a WaterWorks heated solution station, producing clean, smooth supported surfaces — a key advantage in engineering and prototyping workflows. These cartridges date from the late-2000s era of Stratasys FDM desktop and benchtop systems, which brought professional-grade soluble support to engineering teams and design bureaus.

The cartridge housing is in good physical condition with no cracks or damage, and the embedded smart chip is intact and visible.
