Description

Spencer VB030B-011 Vortex Blower 3.4HP 230/460VAC 3Ph 3450RPM TEFC VBA93010

The Spencer VB030B-011 is a regenerative vortex blower driven by a 3.4HP, three-phase induction motor rated at 200-230/460 VAC, 3450 RPM. Spencer Turbine Company, based in Windsor, Connecticut, manufactures this series for continuous-duty industrial air-moving applications. The blower housing uses a side-channel (vortex/regenerative) design that recirculates air around the impeller to build pressure without the high noise or maintenance demands of positive-displacement blowers. This unit has been tested and is in working order — it powers on and blows strongly. It is currently wired for low voltage (200–230 VAC) and can be rewired for 460 VAC operation.

Applications

Spencer vortex (regenerative) blowers are used across a broad range of industrial and process applications that require a continuous, steady flow of air or gas at moderate pressure differentials. Common uses include pneumatic conveying of dry bulk materials, aeration of wastewater and aquaculture tanks, vacuum lifting and pick-and-place systems, sparging and agitation in process tanks, and combustion air supply for burners and furnaces. The TEFC enclosure and continuous-duty motor rating make this blower well suited for washdown-tolerant or dusty plant environments. Dual-voltage winding (200-230/460 VAC) gives it flexibility across common North American three-phase power systems. Spencer Turbine has been manufacturing regenerative blowers and exhausters in Connecticut since the early twentieth century; their VB series is a long-running product line found in food processing, chemical handling, plastics, printing, packaging, and wastewater treatment facilities.
