The Solopower SFX1-35 is a 35-watt, 12-volt flexible thin-film solar panel built on a proprietary stainless-steel substrate using CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) photovoltaic cells. Unlike rigid glass-laminate panels, the stainless-steel backing allows the panel to roll up for compact storage and transport, making it notably lightweight at 2.9 lbs for a 5-foot panel. These are factory demo units from Solopower's Portland, Oregon manufacturing facility — a rare opportunity to acquire genuine CIGS flexible panels from a US-based thin-film producer.

Applications

CIGS thin-film technology on a flexible stainless-steel substrate is designed for portable and conformable solar power applications where rigid panels are impractical. These panels are well suited to marine vessels, RVs, overland vehicles, backpacks or pack frames, and off-grid installations on curved or irregular surfaces. The rollable form factor makes them easy to store and deploy in the field. At 35W and 12V nominal output, a single panel is appropriate for trickle-charging a 12V battery bank or supplementing a small off-grid system; multiple panels can be wired in series or parallel for higher output. The MC4-style connectors are compatible with standard MC4 solar wiring accessories and H4 Helios cables widely used in mobile and marine solar setups. CIGS thin-film cells maintain output somewhat better than crystalline silicon under low-light and high-temperature conditions, a practical advantage in overcast or warm climates.

This Solopower SFX1-35 35W flexible CIGS solar panel is in used condition with cosmetic issues: the top clear backing layer is peeling away in various spots, and the extent and location of peeling varies from panel to panel. Some units may also have remnants of double-sided adhesive tape from factory testing. Orange discoloration spots are visible on some cells, and edge areas show typical handling wear. These are factory demo units originally produced at Solopower's Portland, Oregon facility. We have multiple units on hand and the exact panel shipped will vary from the one photographed — all are representative of the same cosmetic condition range.
