Applications
Smith Corona's PWP series was designed in the late 1980s and early 1990s as an affordable alternative to purchasing a full personal computer system for home and small-office word processing. These machines were widely used for correspondence, school papers, reports, and form-filling — tasks where a PC was considered overkill or too expensive at the time. The integrated LCD display allowed users to preview and edit a line or portion of text before it was printed, a significant improvement over conventional typewriters that printed each keystroke immediately. Today, Smith Corona PWP units are collected by enthusiasts of vintage office technology, used by writers who prefer a distraction-free mechanical writing experience, and sought by hobbyists and retro-tech collectors. They remain functional for basic document production anywhere standard typewriter ribbons and correction tape for the PWP series can be sourced.
This Smith Corona PWP 3200 Personal Word Processor (Model 5N) has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it had previously been in use. The unit shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with prior use. The LCD display, keyboard, and overall housing appear intact as shown in the photos. Please review all photos carefully and contact us with any questions before purchasing.
