Applications

BRI ISDN cables like the Polycom 08717-001 are used to connect Polycom video conferencing codecs — such as older VSX, ViewStation, and similar series units — to a BRI ISDN wall jack or NT1 device. BRI (Basic Rate Interface) ISDN provides two 64 Kbps B-channels over standard telephone infrastructure and was widely deployed for point-to-point video conferencing before broadband and IP-based H.323/SIP connections became dominant in the 2000s. The green-tip connector boot is a Polycom convention for identifying BRI network ports, distinguishing them from LAN or camera cables in a multi-cable setup. These cables remain in demand for organizations maintaining legacy Polycom ISDN endpoints or for integrators servicing older boardroom and distance-learning installations.

Condition: Used
This Polycom 08717-001 BRI ISDN Network Cable is in good used condition. The cable appears clean with no visible damage — the black jacket is intact along its full 20 ft length, and the green-tip RJ-45 connector shows no cracking or broken tabs. A Polycom part number label is affixed to the cable. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
