Applications

Olympus Tokyo (the predecessor brand to Olympus Corporation) produced microscope optics from the mid-20th century through the 1980s under the "Olympus Tokyo" nameplate, before the company standardized on the "Olympus" branding. The Neo and MPlan (Metallurgical Plan) objective series were standard Olympus infinity-corrected and finite-tube-length objectives used across upright research microscopes such as the BH, BH-2, BHS, and related systems. Neo objectives are brightfield achromats for transmitted-light biological microscopy; MPlan objectives are designed for reflected-light (epi-illumination) metallurgical and materials microscopy, offering flat-field correction across a range of magnifications. MS Plan objectives extend the range to higher magnifications with long working distances.
