The MTS Temposonics LT107501000 is a magnetostrictive analog continuous level transmitter with a 75-inch stainless steel rod and a stainless steel float ball. It carries FM approval for intrinsically safe operation in Class I, Division 1, Group C and D hazardous locations, making it suitable for use in environments with flammable gases or vapors. The transmitter outputs an analog signal proportional to the float position along the rod, providing continuous liquid level measurement without contact between the electronics and the measured medium.

Applications

Magnetostrictive level transmitters like the Temposonics LT series are used for continuous, high-accuracy liquid level measurement in tanks and vessels across industries including food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical processing, and industrial manufacturing. The magnetostrictive operating principle works by generating a torsional strain pulse on the rod when the magnetic field of the float intersects a current pulse sent down the rod — the time of flight of that pulse back to the sensing head gives a precise, repeatable position reading. The sanitary process connection on the LT107501000 makes it well suited for hygienic applications such as food-grade or pharmaceutical tanks where clean-in-place (CIP) compatibility and smooth stainless surfaces are required. The FM-approved intrinsically safe rating under Class I, Division 1 allows installation in areas classified as continuously or frequently hazardous due to flammable vapors — common in solvent tanks, fuel storage, and chemical process vessels. Dating from late 1991, this is a first-generation Temposonics LT unit from the era when MTS Systems was establishing magnetostrictive sensing as a standard for industrial level and position measurement.

Condition: Used
This MTS Temposonics LT107501000 Analog Level Transmitter has been inspected and is in good used condition. The teal housing shows paint chips and scuffing, most notably on the upper housing body — visible in the photos. The stainless steel rod is straight and clean with no visible damage. The float ball is present and intact. The retaining clip at the rod base is in place. The internal wiring connector (red and black leads, white multi-pin connector) is visible and appears intact with the cover removed. No junction box, cable, or external wiring is included.
