Applications
The Hitachi Deskstar series was a mainstream desktop hard drive line produced during the mid-2000s, widely used in consumer and business desktop PCs. The HDS728080PLA380 was commonly found as the primary or secondary storage drive in Dell OptiPlex, Dimension, and Precision workstation desktops of that era. At 80GB and 7200RPM, it fits the role of a boot drive or secondary storage drive in older systems requiring a 3.5-inch SATA HDD — including legacy Dell systems needing a like-for-like OEM replacement, retro PC builds, and industrial or embedded computers that still run SATA drives of this capacity. The SATA interface makes it compatible with any system or enclosure that accepts standard 3.5-inch SATA hard drives.
This Hitachi Deskstar HDS728080PLA380 80GB 3.5" SATA hard drive has been tested, formatted, and wiped at our facility and is in good working condition. All previous data has been securely erased. The drive shows normal handling wear consistent with prior use. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
