Description
Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 4P 26-1080 Vintage Portable Computer Tandy Z80 CP/M
The Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 4P (part number 26-1080) is a self-contained portable computer produced by Tandy Corporation and sold through Radio Shack stores in the early 1980s. It integrates a built-in green-phosphor CRT display, a full-travel keyboard, dual floppy drive bays, and rear I/O ports into a single clamshell-style carrying case. This unit powers on and the CRT produces a display — it shows a multilingual floppy drive prompt at boot (English, German, and French), which is the expected ROM behavior when no floppy drives are installed. It is being sold as-is for parts or repair.

Applications
The TRS-80 Model 4P was Radio Shack's portable successor to the desktop TRS-80 Model 4, introduced around 1983. It ran TRSDOS (Tandy's own disk operating system) and was also compatible with CP/M, making it a capable business portable of its era. The Z80-based TRS-80 line was one of the original
This Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 4P (26-1080) vintage portable computer is being sold as-is for parts or repair. The unit does power on, and the built-in CRT screen does display output — it shows a multilingual prompt asking the user to close the floppy drive door, consistent with the ROM boot sequence when no floppy drives are installed. Note: the original listing stated 'no image on screen,' but the photos clearly show the CRT displaying text; we have corrected this. No floppy disk drives are installed in either bay, and there is no hard drive. The plastic casing shows the yellowing typical of aged ABS plastic from this era, and there is some peeling or material damage on the top bezel above the screen. Rear port panel includes RS-232C (DB-25), a parallel printer port, and an I/O bus connector. The keyboard is present and attached. This unit is sold strictly as-is — it is not guaranteed functional for any specific use and no drives or software are included. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
