This is a waveguide switch operated by a DC motor. The output of the waveguide switch is two positions such that in one position a waveguide attached to the switch will have the signal routed to a dummy load that is part of the setup. In the second switch position the signal is routed to another waveguide that would be attached to the switch. With the onboard power supply and DC motor it is only necessary to connect a remote on/off switch to activate the motor that performs the waveguide switching action.
