Applications

Colorado was a well-known brand in the early-to-mid 1990s PC tape backup market, producing QIC-format drives that connected through a computer's existing floppy controller — eliminating the need for a separate interface card. The 120MB capacity was a common standard in that era, targeting DOS and early Windows (3.x / 95) desktop systems where hard drives were typically in the 100–500MB range. These drives were used for routine data backup and archiving in homes, small offices, and workstations. Today they are primarily sought for maintaining legacy systems, restoring older PC setups, or parts. The floppy-interface design made them straightforward to install in any AT or ATX tower with an open 5.25" bay and a spare floppy connector.
